When journalist Molly Ferris talks Vylette into one drink and one interview, it’s supposed to be a feel-good piece about a woman running her own business. Then Molly starts asking oddly specific questions about Vylette’s ex — and hours later, she’s dead on the sidewalk outside.

Now Vylette’s on a very short suspect list, her ex is in town acting as guilty as he looks, and the one witness who might actually know who did it has terrible timing, worse manners, and an obsession with a name that isn’t hers.

Between a dry-witted sea captain, a sharp-tongued raven, and a hacker who thinks “subtle” is a personality trait he possesses, Vylette has to find the truth before whoever silenced Molly decides she’s asked one question too many.
